First time around 1999, 2 at the front trying to hurdle a 5 bar gate.
Second time on Saturday night after a long in depth conversation with Jim Beam.
No idea how I fell backwards into the plant pots, I'm pretty sure though that it was one of the solid wooden pot stands that did the damage.
Snapped clean bottom floating rib.
bked off my wife, then my boss when I rang her, then the writer/director of the play I'm in as it's dress rehearsal day today.
Only the dog still speaking to me.
Can't get in the car, can't get on my bike, can't go fishing...... 'Kin Ell.

Jimbo.

‘orrible, I agree! Hope it’s a swift recovery. Bust mine a few years back when I was doored on the bike. Can’t decide what was worse; the the coughing brought on by the inevitable chest infection, the doc squeezing my ribcage when things didn’t seem to be progressing, or returning to work and instantly clattering my ribs against the edge of the desk. Fun, fun, fun!

I think I've just broken/cracked/bruised mine again, I fell bodily, ribcage first into the corner of an oak table at the weekend. It's very helpful at the moment that I have a tickly cough as well rolleyes. So painful to stand up out of a chair, get out of a car, sleep, even have a sodding poo and generally just breathe!

I did something to one of my ribs when I crashed on my cycle. Rather than put my arm out, I held on to the bars landing on my side with the pointy bit of my elbow digging in to my ribs.
Just about managed the remaining 9 miles home.
And then the breathing on recovery.
The 6 or 7 shallow breaths and then preparing for a deep one was agonising.

As it's the back this time, breathing is fine.
Majority of the pain is mashed muscle and nerve, it's very similar to sciatica when I've slipped discs.
Not 48 hours yet and I'm fed up.

I hope you feel better and recovered to do what you want to do.

I lost several days to a hang over in June or July. No breaks though. It was over a week before I felt normal again.
