My old Siemens Siwamat is unrepairable so I'm looking for a replacement.
The cheapest new Siemens is £799, but I have the chance to buy a s/h one for £150:
https://www.siemens-home.bsh-group.com/uk/en/mkt-p...
https://www.siemens-home.bsh-group.com/uk/supportd...
This is the label; the seller tells me it's about six years old:

Is it worth £150, or would I be better off stumping up £799 for a new one?

I have just bought a new washing machine this evening. The bearings on our Bosch have gone and the repair guy said it was cheaper to buy something new. He recommended the Bosch 2 and 4 series being up to the job. Wife approved. Ordered a 4 from JL, they are doing free disposal of the old machine so works out just over £500 with delivery. Arriving Friday. Job jobbed.

I hate how limited the choice and how expensive builtin appliances are! Six years of three washes a day or once a week? You could get 5 happy years or the drum bearings could fail in a few months needing a whole new tub, effectively uneconomic to repair. (As I found with mine...)
Mine gets very light use, there's just me. Maybe once a fortnight! But in the case of a s/h machine it may have already had a hammering. My old one was ex-demo from a show home and it's lasted 17 years. Even then it was only the spider that failed, but you have to get the drum as well and it's not available - and even if it was by the time you've added labour and VAT it's up to £500.
I think I'm heading to the (new) Siemens. It's £799 everywhere except at https://www.theappliancedepot.co.uk/graded-siemens...
£719 less 10% + £30 delivery, but only a 2 year warranty not 5. It's tempting. Will sleep on it! (not literally).

AO membership saves you £40 on this and gets free delivery. Cost £40 for a year but would save you money even if you never ordered anything else in the year.
Does it really need to be Siemens? I have had beko machines in the past and last 5 years at very low cost. If you don't want to go to a low budget model the look at Bosch, you should be able to get series 4 or series 6 machines for around 500ish, often with year warranty. I have had beko, Samsung and bosch washing machines over last 15 years and all been good. Bosch has been the quietest in our limited experience.

Siemens = BoschAnd I don t mean this like VW = Skoda.
The machines are often IDENTICAL. My office uses Siemens dishwashers. Apart from having blue accents, and different logos, they were IDENTICAL to Bosch dishwashers I was looking to buy which had red accents. Same specs, same baskets, same mouldings, same everything.

I can't imagine the justification spending £799 on a washing machine.
When our John Lewis (rebranded Zanussi) gave up the ghost after 19 years I decided to replace rather than repair. Spent £300 (less £50 back for trading in the old broken one) on a machine from LG having struggled to find much in the way of negative reviews about it and it is quick, quiet and washes well. A 5yr parts and labour warranty (10yrs for the direct drive inverter motor) gives peace of mind, and for after that having seen a complete teardown video of one it looks to be designed to be easily repaired e.g. split drum for bearing replacement, part numbers on all components etc.
Granted it's not an integrated model (although does happen to be quite shallow so might still fit behind a door) but aside from that what am I missing out on that warrants spending another £500?

Faultless logic, and you're right - the cheapest integrated machine is a £279 Baumatic. But my car is an Aston (which makes no practical sense whatsoever), and that trickles down even to kitchen appliances...

I have moved from Bosch group to almost exclusively Samsung for white goods.
I've also moved to Samsung, my previous washing was a Miele and it used to make a racket. The repair cost wasn't that much off buying a newer cheaper machine which also came with a 5 year warranty.
Currently in the utility room waiting for it to finish it's cycle this very moment.
