Xc40 boot comes half way down beeps Then goes back up

Any common fixes before forking out to garage?

2019 XC40 petrol car, with push button boot

Have you checked your boit liner hasnt slipped forward over the threshhold slightly?
And checked all the seals are in place correctly.

Assuming you can actually close it manually have you checked if there is a reset procedure for the closure like on electric windows?

The manual should tell you.

Sounds like a Sensor being tripped and thinking there's something that will stop the boot from closing. Check there's nothing that is covering a seal or sensor somewhere.

I googled the problem & on another forum the guy said he sprayed the struts with lubricant. I sprayed mine & tried it a few times and it seems to shut now, was very squeaky previously, hopefully this has fixed it , will check again tomorrow 👍
