So I am new to EVs although my other half works for an EV company and knows more about battery tech etc than anybody I have ever met...however, I am looking for real world ownership advice here

I also am EXTREMELY new to Leasing

I have an Ltd and have worked out (checking with my accountant) that I can probably spend about £25-40k on a lease car over 3-4 years and, having sold my own personal car, which reduces my need for dividends, I will end up in a decent position cash flow wise - if this were not the case I would not be buying a car on a lease as its never seemed sensible to me.

So now that the man maths is done, what options do I have in the above budget?

I found

Hyundai Ioniq 5N - the only EV I have actually test driven and I loved it. I had an F10 M5 and a megane RS275 Trophy as my dailies at the time and it so weirdly felt like it was both of these cars simultaneously it was great

Tesla model y performance - would need to be used - which has some negatives - this car makes the most sense by a country mile - I have been driven in one but never driven one (I have zero issues buying a tesla as whilst I may not agree with Elons views I havent forgotten that thousands of people work for Tesla and also pay their bills with the money people spend buying teslas!? anyway not to derail the thread) however they are just sooooo boooooring and I am not sure I can bring myself

i4m50 - makes a lot of sense for many reasons

i5m60 touring - seen some used deals that may work - I love the look of the car and seems very practical

m5 touring - I could push the boat out above the budget but I would not really save any on running costs, insurance etc and so I cant see mysefl stretching to this I saw an offer around £750/month with 9-12 months down for 3 or 4 years - closer to £45k total lease

a small part of me wants to go in the other direction and just get a small hatchback and accept my EV is basically for going back and forth to the office and that is it.

any other suggestions/opinions/amazing lease deals?

Despite all the cashflow or fiscal benefits, have you actually compared spending £25k on a lease to spending £25k on a use i4 that you would own?

Thought about the Alpine A290 ??

We have got one and been really impressed with the handling however will admit the range is not as great as other EVs. Yes its a smaller car and would not be great as your only car - however definitely one to bring a smile to your face when you drive.
