Stay nearby, arrive early, and make the most of the day. Take a picnic to avoid queueing for lunch.
I've been twice with the family and loved it both times. If you go in high season be prepared to have a hot, busy day. There are queues but they are generally very well managed. The silent movie one was new on our second visit and I dragged a reluctant family to see it, but they all came out saying it was the highlight of the day. It is was beautiful, technically amazing, and quite moving, but less of a complete mind melt than some of the more boisterous outdoor shows.
Quite randomly, on our first trip there in 2016 I even got spotted by another PHer who recognised my car in the car park from an old PH Carpool feature!

If you go in the height of summer wear lots of suncream and a big hat.
It can be hellish hot.
Where you sit is also crucial to how much you will enjoy the day,not for show content but sun exposure.
It’s a very French theme park and that makes it better still,a very unique park and very good.

It s fantastic, my family loved it. I would try not to do too much research about the shows so it s more for a surprise.
No rides, it all shows or walk through experiences. I can t recommend it enough!
The site is huge, each show holds 1000’s of people, but it’s all very well organised.

Brilliant. I only understand limited French and the shows are still all excellent and both my kids loved it too. We booked a meal in the evening in the themed restaurant and then watched the evening show. It's a very long day but well worth it. You can plan an outline of what to see before going, queues aren't long and you can see most of it in the day but not all. We got there when it opened and were there when it closed and a lot of people probably do similar. It's very well organised.

Has anybody done this park for the day?
Looks very different but not sure about translation issues making it worthwhile.
Best park in France. If you have the chance to go and don't then you'll need to have a word with yourself. We've been a number of times and it never fails to be impressive, especially the coliseum.Looks very different but not sure about translation issues making it worthwhile.
Only been once and that was in 1998! It was amazing, this was pre internet so I’d no idea what my French cousins were taking me to but I love history, culture and the rural life.
I’m sure nearly 30 years on it’s even better and I’d love to go back. Highlight for me was the birds of prey show.

We first heard about it from a friend who is from the Vendee, very close to PDF, and then from relatives whom we visited in the Loire a couple of years ago, who told us that the drive was definitely worth it.
