Son was on his DNA profile on Ancestry web site. Opened up something on that and now he finds Google blocked.

Gets this message in the corner of the screen with a long list of "computer text" below including an IP address.

When you click "No" for the robot message the screen goes blank and the Google Search message on the task bar flashes.

He's checked Windows Defender Security and run Malwarebytes

Existing tabs and saved bookmarks work but can't do a fresh Google search.

Would appreciate any suggestions please.

thanks

Quick update: if he signs out of his Google account, Chrome works. Sign in and it doesn't.

Update 2: He signs into his Google account using an Outlook email address Has done for years apparently. That no longer works
If he signs into his Google account using his Google email address Chrome works.

Now don't ask me why his Google account was accessed with his Outlook email address (which is the one he uses for everyday emails) but that's the way it's always been. It would seem that the two have decided to clash somehow. I note a very recent Windows update earlier this evening. May be relevant?

Don't think he'll know what a VPN is!
Turns out, his Google account stems from a time way back, his first phone was an android. He needed a Google Account to run stuff/play store etc.
He's now on an iPhone and doesn't need the Google account anymore. His email stuff etc is all Outlook and his PC is Windows.
Having deleted the Google account it's all working again and he can use Chrome etc
All waaay beyond my computer workings knowledge. I understand the basics but then get lost.
Don't know why this would suddenly happen last night but thanks for helping out.
