Looking to straighten my teeth out and whiten them.
Can anyone advise if I complete my course will the teeth move back. Are braces any better.
Also people popping off to turkey - can they do a quicker job or is it the same as the UK but cheaper?

Thanks

It does depend on severity of your teeth. First of all do not go to Turkey. All teeth will move after orthodontic treatment-you'll have to retain at night for as long as you want your teeth to stay straight Most people are crowded so will need teeth removed, teeth smoothed inbetween to provide space or slight expansion....Avoid direct systems they rarely work - aligner systems like Invisalign work well but you have to have attachments to allow them to move teeth. Even then they dont correct rotations well. Hope that helps. (orthodontist for 30yrs)

Slight thread hijack but hopefully still relevant.

The reply above mentions teeth removal due to crowding - is this still quite common?

My son's orthodontist seemed to imply it has gone out of vogue somewhat, and had been done too much in the past.

Though it makes sense at a basic level - if teeth > space available, something's got to give (unless you just ignore it).

One of my offspring had alignment recently. Needed extractions. Think it's common.
