Help! Auto-electric Cock Up
Discussion
Morning everyone.
I am hoping the PH crew can help me out on an electrical issue I have.
It's on a 2006 Merc CLK 320CDI.
I bought a modern replacement for the existing Double Din head unit, one with built in nav, streaming etc.
The old unit was working fine just old tech and no bluetooth.
I removed the old unit with no issues and the new unit is a "one big block connector" plug and play connection.
Plugged it in and it doesn't work.....checked what I could but it was getting late so I decided to put the old unit back in for now and come back to it next weekend. The issue is the old unit now doesn't work either so I presume I have somehow shorted out something while swapping over.
I have checked the fuses and all look ok. What else could I have killed?
I am hoping to get an Auto spark to come out and look at it on Friday but looking for some clues in the mean time.
Everything else still works.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
Cheers
Brian
PS: Can anyone recommend an Auto Electrician in the Chester area?

Get a big illuminated magnifier and make sure the pins are all good and straight in the plug.
If you’ve a meter, check for power on the plug https://pinoutguide.com/Car-Stereo-Mercedes-Maybac...
