Fewer Tuscans for sale than usual?

Just an observation from the PHs classifieds section, but there are alot less Tuscans for sale at the moment than usual IMHO. Currently 35 advertised, against 58 Grffs. Commonly, there have been a fairly equal number for sale. Average number of Tuscans advertised is about 47 normally.
What's happening? Has everyone who is selling 'sold' them - and those with them keeping them?

As resale values are absolute shite now, plus I don't like the T2 design, I'm sticking with my MK1 S for the long term now (or until at least the engine gives up !!)
I much prefer the MK1 looks and hopefully in a couple of years will become a classic and values will soar like a phoenix from the flames..
Plus with talk about supercharging these beasts to over 500hp, it makes more sense to continue with my current one until it gives up the ghost...then decide whether to get rid or invest in rebuild and supercharging at same time...

Yep - the prices always go up and down, down now because of the new model, and current owners changing hence decreasing the price due to lots on the market.
I'm keeping mine for at least another year
Don't see the point of selling something that makes me giggle like a child every time my right foot gets twitchy!

And I don't blame any of you Tuscan mark 1 owners wanting to keep your P&J, it still looks way ahead of its time!
You have an S6 plate too!
As a MK1 owner i am bound to say i prefer MK1 looks over MK2 - i was going to switch for a sag as its the only thing that would tempt me away from my MK1 -

I have just bought my Tuscan via PH i have lusted after one for ages. Its the best design I always swore I would never buy another TVR after buying one of the first TVR S maany years ago and ending up parking it outside the dealers and posting the keys through the letter box in disgust at the continuing problems. I know smile just looking at it in the garage - sad git.
I personally think that the value of OUR cars has been driven so low that it`s hard to justify the cost to change to another car, the average 2000 car now seems to be worth next to nothing, and dealers want £30k for 02/03 Tuscans, If i where to keep mine i would try and do as much work as i can myself because the service history is not worth the expenditure, i was offered a figure by a "specialist" for my car and wasn`t ask about history
If you spend thousands keeping it in good nick it is never going to be worth thousands more than poorly maintained examples, When we where at the Austec open day there was a Tuscan on the ramps engine less, with bald rear tyres, cheapo front tyres, rusting chassis,CV gators all ripped, if that car had seen a dealer in the last 2 years i would eat my hat, and i bet he would be offered a simular price to a nice example
The engines reputation is now simular to the Triumph Stag`s in the late 70`s, any one who has owned a Tuscan will forever be smitten, engine rebuilds where being discussed on these forums 3 yrs ago when i bought mine and will be in another 3 yrs...
a crying shame i know but it didn`t put me off buying one and won`t put me off buying one in the future so keep hold of your cars guys and dolls and run them into the ground!!!

I would have thought that it was more to do with that it has been realised advertising a 2000 Tuscan for more than £20k was a waste of time.
If you are only going to realise £18-20k for the car you feel is worth a lot more (IMHO) it turns a lot of people off unless they really have to sell.
There is also the factor that the sale price drops as it comes toward winter meaning that the only way they will sell will be for a knock down price. A better time to sell would be toward next summer?
The drop in Tuscans for sale is also mirrored on Autotrader etc, so I dont think its merely a PH phenomenon.
Well I sold my 03 Tuscan S (Sept 04) on PH, on the basis that company ownership had changed and was a little nervous how it would turn out (looks fine now - but did get a new M3 instead, sad I hear you say) plus new MK2 was due and I had a deposit on the Sag. Got 37k for a 03 Tusc S with 12k on the clock...not sure how much I would have lost if I kept it into 2005.
Shame as I missed it and have now moved to Switzerland for a few years, work reasons, and not getting the Sag in the short term and had to sell my M3 as was leaving the country!
