What’s the Rouleur Live show like? Worth going to?

Went a few years ago when it was at another venue.

Fabian Cancellara was there. He was cool. Matt Stephens doing most of the interviews.

Van der Breggen was interviewed by Simon Brotherton and it was to be fair a better interview as you'd expect from a household name sports commentator

Saw Ned Boutling, but he was in and out in about 5 mins and didn't speak publicly.

if you want to hear specific guests, then go. (but check which days they are scheduled to be there) The actual show with trade stands itself was incredibly disappointing imo. I remember Le Col had a stand, but you couldn't try on any of their range. They were just plugging their tie ins/custom range with clubs.

Yes a few big brands there. But none had anything approaching a range of their bikes. Think Canyon only had gravel bikes! Most of the stuff advertised was niche stuff that I have zero interest in. Obscure hydration concoction "solutions" ISTR Ceramic Speed where there with their OSJW and I literally dont care as even with millions in the bank, I'm not going to notice a 0.0000000003w saving laugh Jersey manufacturers and obscure frame builders youve never heard of and simply aren't going to buy from as you'll just go on Tredz/Sigma/Evans/Balfe etc and order what they have in stock

I suspect its an element of me not being the target demographic who ride coffee shop to bakery on super expensive bikes once a week. It was just a bit poncy. I remember the only coffee stand there had nearly all their writing on their price list in Italian! So whilst I have a smattering of it, it was utterly stupid! (Prices were standard "exhibition rate" )

Thanks. They’ve got some big names (e.g. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and Greg Lemond), so I’ll check it out.

I’m not Rouleur’s target market for the show or magazine. Nonetheless, the magazine can have some engaging articles.

I went last year for the first time and really enjoyed it. The guests were excellent and there were loads of stands to look around, even if 90% of it was unobtainium. I'm a sucker for a bit of bike porn.

I went with a mate, who also loved it, and we're booked for two days this year as we felt we didn't have enough time to look around properly and take in all the talks we wanted to in just one day.

2 days? Jesus! laugh

I went round the show in about half an hour. Maybe it was a poor year, but it was tiny. Watched some guests. Then actually left the venue for a couple hours, and came back to hear the AVdB interview!

We go most years as a guest of one of the brands (friend owns a LBS) or as a guest of one of the stars, we know a couple of the perennial presenters. It's fun, worth it if you're local.

Thursday night is when we go, used to be invitation only and a party night, but now open access, but retains the more fun aspect in my opinion. And the afterparties are amazing!! Many times we've seen dawn.

They have lost a bit of their edge in my opinion, but still a good if slightly nerdy night (or day) out.
