As per my thread I posted the other day, looking for a "toy car" as such that I could take the kids in as well (4+5)
It had to be fun, powerful.... I do have a MK3 Focus RS but I feel it's a bit lazy.

Initially an M4 was off the cards until I went to a friends house and put the seats in and tried them and it was actually no grief at all, loads of space for them.

I had asked previously about him selling it but it was his car for life but now something else caught his eye and we struck a deal.

So here she is

2015 M4 DCT
Yas Marina Blue (The only colour I wanted in a M car)
Harmon Kardon
Full carbon interior (real not fake stick on crap)
Carbon CS bonnet (I have the original yas bonnet)
Carbon spoiler

Full history on IDRIVE

It's had new turbos, cam alignment etc the owner previous to my friend was a BMW mastertech.

It is running 560bhp and has all the hardware to suit.

The DCT has been mapped aswell, so when in M2 it's vicious but so precise.

It only has a couple of very tiny marks on it, it's also got PPF on various parts of the car.

The only thing it needs is rear discs and pads which are arriving today so I will crack on with that on Friday after work.

Initial thoughts - Very impressed, the power/torque is incredible, I imagine if you are "giving it some" it could go wrong pretty quickly if you are not paying attention. It doesn't break traction that easy with all the gubbins switched on.

I am also surprised in the wet how much grip it does have when all the options are on, when they are off, it's a wild animal.

Plans - I have purchased a few more carbon items for the interior, new exhaust trims, rear discs/pads, leather conditioner and that is it.

Just fuel it and enjoy it.

I did manage to clay bar, seal, wax it, so it's immaculate now.

Excuse the terrible photos I have not really had the time to get some good ones.

Looks like it tics all the boxes you wanted.

Will you keep the carbon bonnet?

So initially I was negotiating a deal for him to keep it, but when I viewed it in the sun it looks stunning with it, it’s the same weave as the roof so it matches so well.

Interested that you say it handles the extra power without much of an issue with traction. My 64 plate F82 on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres can't handle standard power on a dry day. My understanding was this was normal - the early cars were all criticised in the press for lacking traction under power.

What tyres are you running, do you know if anything's been done to the geometry? Or is it down to the map to smooth out the low end punch of torque on the standard cars?

So it has uniroyal rainsport 5s all round which both previous owners swore by. And in the wet I am very impressed.

Nope - suspension and geometry is standard.

In M1 so pretty much full comfort spec - The power is so smooth and you can give it some without the fear of constantly fighting traction control.
In M2 - Sport+ etc it's wild, all smoke and danger to a degree and can be quite snappy when the boost comes in at gear changes. I think my old E46 M3 was more unpredictable than this in my opinion.

Been doing a few wee bits.

Carbon paddles
Gear surround
Stick
Vents

Just to get it all matching.

Ive ordered a carbon rear diffuser for it to finish the rear off.

Brakes are due tomorrow.

I had it out in the torrential rain during Storm “Amy” and again I am so surprised how much traction it has and stability.

Over the moon with it.

But I’ve noticed the stitching on the drivers shoulder bolster has split and this seems a common issue. How the hell am I fixing that?

So a little update

A carbon rear diffuser arrived which I had bought, and I am sending it straight back, i didn't realise it was cheap and hydro dipped very very poorly.

Another wee interior carbon trim arrived which has now completed the interior.

I have been putting some miles on it and it is such a fantastic driving machine.

Next up was the lack of applecar play - I bought a box off aliexpress for £105 and set about fitting it, very straight forward, and the only thing I had to do was swap the optical cables from the oem loom (unplug) and plug them into the adaptor loom and away we went. Happy days

Decided to purchase a carbon steering wheel and the akrapovic exhaust tips to match the new rear splitter.

But today I spotted on the camera at the house, my darling wife deciding to use the M4 today...................

Let's hope that she doesn't know how to turn the traction control off, or you might end up with no rear tyres left! biggrindriving

Hey everyone, sorry for going a bit off-topic, but I’d like to get your opinion on a car I came across online. What do you think — is it reasonable to buy a car like this from Dubai and bring it over to Germany? Would you personally go for it, or is it too risky and not worth trusting the source? I’ve been having mixed feelings about this idea for the past few days and could really use some advice.

She did have the traction control off and was a bit of a hooligan I believe. I never showed her the M2 button, she clearly figured it out and was telling me it was wild.

She’s a decent driver to be fair…………

That's a stunning colour, really bright. Suits the car perfectly.
All the carbon looks nice too.
Are you planning on leaving the wheels black?

Took it a good run yesterday, had my insta360 on it and got some nice footage.

Launches very well, and it’s an animal in the dry.

A bit more spam, front number plate removed to make way for my private plate tomorrow.

Looks clean without one, shame about the legalities.m

Im absolutely in love with it, I think it’s the fact I can drive it nice and chill with the kids in it, and then it has the potential to kill you quickly.

Lovely car and what an engine!

I think it would benefit from silver wheels and the bonnet being body colour but that’s just my taste.

I would try not to get “carbon fibre fever”, it tends to look best in small additions, cars dripping in carbon rarely look the best…again….imo.

I think you have the best colour for these.

I have the OEM bonnet and I’m 50/50 with painting this bonnet the same colour as the far, I think that make look better.

Wheels I’m unsure on as well, they’re in good condition but not sure if to change them or not.

I know what you mean about the carbon. The front splitter is gloss black and the new rear splitter will be the same.
