Anyone have experience of these?

I had no idea they existed until they started popping up on my Facebook page.

It seems a bit of a strange idea, to be honest. They are basically the carpark of a pub!

It's a great idea, lots of them about. You only have to buy a meal for over night parking.

It was originally a copy of the 'France Passion' scheme, but both seem somewhat irrelevant these days when there's several free websites/apps listing all manner of free or cheap parking/camping spots.

We used Brit Stops getting on for 10 years ago. It was published annually as a book which customer purchased direct. We met the owners/authors at a motorhome fair and they were nice people. I don't know the details but as staying at pubs and other places was free at point of use it was very difficult to monetise Brit Stops against people just using Internet sites. They relied on people buying the book each year which was a different colour for the cover to persuade people to not use old books which were obviously still going to be 90% up to date.

I think they sold the business so I hope it worked for them in the end.

There are a couple of pubs near me who advertise on the sites as “Brit stop only” but they are very much a rarity. I think though these founders were trail blazers so I am grateful. I love my pub stops, very rarely use sites as it’s not my thing and I am fully self sufficient other than water and waste every 4 days or so.

I believe it is now owned by the American company that also owns the 'Search for Sites' website/app.

Bought the book a few years ago. TBH, over the same period I've used far more France Passion stops. They're a lot more than just pubs, and we've bought some excellent goodies from various of them over the years.
Mostly, though, we use SFS and P4N or just use our noses to find park-ups.
