Such a great film. It's up there as being one of the very best British films ever made in my opinion.

Shane Meadows has produced some simply superb stuff. Dead Man’s Shoes is very, very good. Also forgot how good Once upon a time in the Midlands is, definitely going to have to revisit his stuff soon.

Great film.

Only seen it once.

I remember being very shocked by the violence in the third act.

My favourite British film. You can tell that Meadows has spent time in low level criminal/drug dealer flats before. The dialog is superb and accurate. It's dark, violent, funny, sad, emotional and brilliantly acted by all. Hard to believe this was Toby Kebbell's first movie.

My favourite scene of the film, and probably of any film..

"You're fkin there mate...."

If ever you are in Matlock Derbyshire you can still see some of the locations they used. Sadly that location where the scene above was filmed (which was garages) has now had houses built on.

There was recent mention of a 4K disc being released, but sadly that aint happening now

4K wouldn't add anything to the film to be fair.

It is a great film. Paddy Consindine at his best.
Great cast too, Gary Stretch (very good ex boxer) is very good as the leader of the gang. Shame he hasn t been in more films.
Danny Boyle at his best as well, this genre of film is perfect for his style.

Greatest revenge film ever made, and it's a big genre. One of those films where it for me is a fantasy I have acted out in my head many many times.
I'd like to question any person who thinks what he did and why he did it somehow made him the bad guy.....
His character is an absolute hero in my eyes and the image of him in the mask is just iconic.
The most dangerous people in history are those acting out inner justification, once you realise that what made Hitler the worst wasn't some comic book 'hes evil', and it was just that in his mind, everything he did could be justified, you can't operate against that. Saw the same with Charlie Kirk killer, he acted on an inner justification of the 'right' thing..... its that which is scary....
Same with Putin, their view in there mind is they are the good guys.....
At the core of 'Adolescence' was the fact the kid believed he was justified in his actions......
Admitting this, doesn't mean i share their view, it just explains IMO why, and why saying 'evil' in in most cases pointless....

One of my faveourite films

Quite poignant for me now having an autistic son with special needs , who could be easily led just like the poor lad in the film.

Always grips me from start to end.

Indeed, my inner psycho is held back for, God forbid, if either of my children is ever harmed by someone. That would be the point I go Viking on someone.
