Fuse to Disable Car

Does anyone know if there is a fuse that can be pulled out that will stop the car from being started?

I have tried pulling the one for the Fuel Pump but the car still starts with that 20 Amp fuse out.

Have you tried removing the fuel pump relay (not the fuse)?

Curious, why do you want to do this? And there may be another way to achieve same result?

Agree with TDT. Why would you want to do it? I sort of get it if you're going on holiday for an extended period of time (months) but in any case if someone wants it they'll take it at all costs.

Just fit a battery terminal switch (I have had to do this on previous classics where there was a parasitic charge) OR fit a liteblox battery this has a coded cut off via bluetooth. Kills all supply cannot be turned on without the code.

Many years ago a car alarm installer told me the simplest way to stop a car being started was to install a simple hidden switch in the negative feed to the fuel pump.

Would doing that enable you to build oil pressure before fuelling the engine ? And if so would the car then register an ECU fault ??

My friend, after his F30 335d got stolen, has fitted a number of theft countermeasures on his Volvo.

Rather than killing a fuel pump or something, he has a hidden switch attached to the fuse for the start/stop button.

Even if the key was relayed, (which it won't be in a faraday cage, and kill switch installed on it!) the thief would be in the car and unable to start it as the button is completely dead. They would be stuck forever trying to figure it out. Very simple and effective if you ask me.

That's interesting.

But what are you referring to when you say the fuse for the Start/Stop button?
My Cayman is ignition key operated.

With a key ignition i suppose this is a non starter unless the ignition barrel has a fuse itself.
