Well its actually a Month but I was away for 2 weeks ....
Yes I bought another McLaren after a year of abstinence ....

For me it was 720 or 600LT, (I did think about what good value a GT looks and even an Artura but think only one way for them both to go)
but having 2 race cars and a few other cars I can use on track which I don't use the sensible option lol was a 720 as I want to do at least another Eurotour with my wife / son.

Initial thoughts:

Jesus its silly quick ..... like superbike quick (at least of old anyway).
Jesus it likes a drink compared to the 12c.

The cabin is very familiar, still has seats that you can't adjust to suit me, still a major operation to turn on the ignition for anything (I have just fitted car play) without constantly shutting down or telling you low battery.

Can't believe CarPlay is not std on a 250k car.
Ignition key is cheap plastic rubbish compared to the carbon on a 12c
I preferred the swipe doors instead of a button.
"key not found" if you put it in the key holder slot - fine if in your pocket lol.
360 parking camera and reverse camera great.
You can not get to the engine easily.
Red glow in engine compartment cool.
Sound just as non dramatic as the 12c - both with sports exhaust.
Looks are out of this world.
Race Start up (when hot) is hilarious.

Faults to be sorted under warranty:
Mirrors don't dip in reverse despite the settings.
One door is out of line and needs adjustment.
Unable to adjust the brightness on the control panel.
Rear spoiler out of line and needs adjustment.

As per my 12c post accumulators have been changed at 3800 and again at 12000 miles (4 years later) ........ Really !
Glass roof panels replaced twice and now appears to have polycarbonate upgrade.

Forgot to add, plan is to sell if they go sub 100 having had my fun - I don't mind taking a shower but not having another bath :-)

I will update post as and when.

Just to add -

whilst the seat is unable at the moment to be adjusted to fit me correctly, it is also probably the worst position to place the electric adjusted switch ever ...... feel only not sight, on the wrong side of the seat IMO.

Stop start works sometimes (boo) and doesn't at others (hurrah)

Road tax is £195 a year ! ........ I may even not sorn it this year

I do fancy a 720....... I didn't like the looks at first (headlights) but it has definitely grown on me.

Seems the mpg of the 4.0 is nowhere near as good as on the 3.8, even just under normal driving. Surprised to hear about the road - tax, my 570 is in the lower band but I thought all cars after 2018 on wards were in the higher bracket.

Enjoy, and.......

Awesome cars after 8 months in mine.

I really cant see them sub £100, prices imo are firmer now than a year ago and only half the number on the market, with the independents taking up the slack and making them more affordable i think current prices are not going anywhere.

Yes, still can't get my head around the road tax, its a May 2018 which appears to just fall into that bracket of cheap tax which makes a change as the 12c was £600 ? odd, can't remember now but lots regardless for a fun car.

It's great to read these first hand reports ... hopefully you will get all the snagging sorted but a shame that they were not already done ... and hopefully then your use will be trouble free and therefore always sunny smile

Same here. I'm pretty slow at adopting new things but I couldn't get over how weird, and not in a good way, they looked from the front and they totally passed me by. Now, having spent more time around McLarens I think they look super cool and sharp.

I agreed a deal, put a deposit on the car unseen, and was then told it would be 3 weeks to go through the workshop which annoyed me as it was 3 lovely weeks in August.
In the dealers defence I started to change my mind and I think we both sensed a cancellation coming if it went on any longer as I wanted the car for the club summer party, so it did become a bit rushed (that said in my opinion the car should not have gone on sale if it wasn't ready).
I have had noted the little faults so will get sorted under warranty or just do myself.

Same here, invited to the Geneva launch and thought WTF !
Love the looks and trick aero now, although I still think the 650/675/P1 is the prettiest.
