Anyone use it?

Since I've become older my skin becomes dry during the winter, especially on my back which becomes quite itchy.

I dislike the feeling of clothing over skin with cream on, so it would need to be something non-sticky.

Also open to any nutrition ideas that may work.

TIA

I'm very similar. In the colder months the skin on my hands and ears (weirdly) gets so dry to the point of cracking and bleeding. Tried all sorts of different "moisturiser" shower gels and chemical free stuff, makes no difference. My diet remains the same and can't think of anything else that changes.

I hate winter at the best of times, this makes it even worse laugh

I highly recommend pure aloe Vera. Check ingredients on what your buying and make sure it's >99% and not mixed with crap. Put it on before bed, it goes on sticky but once absorbed it's fine. I use it on holiday and haven't used crappy aftersun for years. Helps in winter to with dry wind burnt skin.

I've been using this for a while now:

Like the OP I hate the feeling of clothing on moisturised skin - this gets absorbed fairly quickly and works very well.

I get it from Boots.

I use a few products but none cure it, they just give a temporary solution. Jojoba oil is good for dry skin. It s expensive in small bottles but in larger quantities it s better value. I bought from this ebay seller

Laughably dry skin here. For the last few months i've been using Aveeno Body Wash for very dry skin and then Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe soothe body lotion which soaks in pretty quick.

Personally, I’ve never found anything beneficial for my skin, is it just snake oil?

Just asking smile

I use Neutrogena which is a thickish balm, I just use it to problem areas, under arms and groin. I used to get skin tags which are difficult to remove on your own, I don't get the skin tags any more.

I have the same dislike of any creams that are sticky or 'creamy'. I would strongly recommend avoiding any creams that are white in colour. This usually means they contain an oil of some sort, and they will feel sticky and hard to absorb.

You need to stick with 'aqua gel' or 'water gel' water-based moisturisers. Basically the ones that look like a clear or mostly clear gel. They are non-sticky, absorb very quickly, and leave the skin feeling fresh rather than greasy.

Any of the following are really good. I've tried loads over the years.

https://www.boots.com/neutrogena-hydro-boost-water...

https://www.boots.com/kiehls-ultra-facial-oil-free...

After extensive testing... I now stick to using the last two I linked to. Great products and quite cheap.

The Kiehls is really good stuff. But £37 for 50ml.... rofl

I've used Kiehl's Crème de Corps for over a decade after every shower usually twice a day.

But you'll possibly find Nivea is just as effective and very light.

Normally stick a bit of Bulldog moisturiser on my face this time of year when it gets a bit colder and blowy. Seems to work well. smile

Picking up on this bit, if you're not usually prone to dry skin, it could be a sign of poor hydration. You could also try Omega3 and/or liquid collagen.

You need to try a few and see what works best for you.

Aveeno is very light and non greasy. Plus, Jennifer Aniston can't be wrong smile

DIPROBASE - brilliant stuff.
About £15 for a large dispenser and worth every penny,

I have tried loads of different brands as I get very dry skin too. Aveeno is pretty good, but Dexeryl is the best by far that I have found.
