I lost interest after my experience of building my 1/8th Pocher Pagani Utopia. Ok so i managed to finish it and also built the yellow Lamborghini Aventador with all thanks to Paul Koos detailed instructions and decal sets.I haven't put a build on this forum for the Lamborghini as there's loads of them out there and it really wasn't a build that i did on my own without any help, but all Kudos to Paul Thankyou.
.

The whole experience of the Pagani left me feeling that i didnt want to build models anymore especially as its a hobby ive enjoyed over many years.
Then one day about a month after i was looking through my garage for something and fell across a model i bought over 25 years ago and its probably older than that.
1/12th Protar Ferrari 126 C2.
First thought was to just throw it all together, but as i went along, found that the kit is fabulous and i haven't done it the justice it deserves. The details for this very old kit are crisp considering the age of it and am really enjoying the build with reasonably good build instructions, albeit i should have taken a bit more time and care to make it presentable, however its put me back into the mood to build again. The plastic has become fragile and soft to the point that most of the gluing is with CA instead. The decals have survived and have gone on ok with some decal softener.Happy to be back in the game. Will upload some photos soon. Cheers

Hers some photos prior to fitting the body which needs priming, painting and decals.
The fuel pipes were overscale as was the black tubing but im sure the technology wasn't there to go finer back in the day.I think this was a 80,s/90,s kit but not sure.

It's looking good, glad you're enjoying your hobby again. I've got a tamiya sas jeep been sitting on the table nearly finished for over a year! I might build it without the little men.

Thankyou for the message, can you get the crew from another supplier to help finish the build?

Im really guessing , it depends on how much effort and extra detailing you want to do , so it could be anywhere between 20-to 40 hours but im guessing.
I can say this though, you really can get lost in time when building a model, ive gone on to just spend an 1 hour and find that ive spent 3-4 instead

Lovely - one of my favourite-looking racing cars. Later reissued by Revell (I have this unbuilt somewhere in the pile) which allowed it to be more affordable, even with the addition of better quality aftermarket decals. I must get around to it now!

It does come with figures, but I'm just not very good at painting them. I'll give it a go though. If they look rubbish I can always leave them off.

Body finished but im not going to lacquer it as the decals are so old i fear he lacquer will attack it.
I will try and use a silicone based polish later on.Ive left the screws out so the interior detail can be displayed.
Considering its age i was surprised at how detailed this kit is and should have put more effort into completing it to a better standard.
Im onto the Meng 1/12th mclaren and am really pleased at how detailed this kit is and also the precision of the detailed parts, probably put some photos on if anyone's interested . Thanks for looking and the comments received.Cheers.

Great job! I had this kit ages ago but never built it, the mould lines put me off as it looked like a lot of work compared to the Tamiya stuff I was used to.
A great looking Ferrari though from that amazing Turbo period!

Lovely build!
I’ve done the Meng McLaren and it’s a great kit, one of the best fitting kits I’ve ever built I think.
The tolerances are VERY tight though, so just be careful about getting any pain on mating surfaces. It can be enough to cause issues, if so just a few swipes with a sanding sponge to remove it is enough.

well done and super jealous of the skill so many of you seem to have..!

If I had the money, I'd pay someone to build them with me!
