Puerto del Carmen in February
Discussion
Any recommended places to stay in Puerto del Carmen Lanzarote?
Looking at going next February for 7 nights. We like to eat and drink out so either self catering or B&B.
Hotel or apartment for the wife & I, plus our 19yr old son. Would want to be close to town so we can just stroll to the restaurants and bars etc. and so our son can easily wander off into town to get away from us

PdC is the chavvier resort on Lanzarote. If you're sure you want to go there, stay as close to the harbour as possible, as that always used to be the more-Spanish end and there were (many years ago) some proper restaurants around the harbour.
But as above, I'd recommend Playa Blanca. There's still some decent bars (music and sports) for the teenager, but I'm not sure if there are any clubs - may be one in the dodgy commercial centre opposite the H10. But there's a far wider choice of restaurants, many along the seafront promenade, and there's a couple of smaller beaches either side. Oh, and the marina if you want overpriced food and overpriced market-tat!
Where to stay? Depends on budget.
- Top end there's no contest - go to the Iberostar (they have an adults only section) - slightly further out, but a decent beach is right on the doorstep, the views are good, the pools are good and the food is surprisingly decent. Princess Yaiza has the name and the grounds are prettier, but I'm not sure anything else is better than the Iberostar. There are other "5-star" hotels out East behind and past the marina, but most of them are HB or AI packages and they're a strong walk into town proper for the restaurants and bars.
- Mid-range the H10 Lanz. Princess always used to be a decent bet in a good location, but I'd probably only do B&B there. Mrs H took our eldest there a few years back to the Mynd and she said that was OK too.
...and there may be some adults-only hotels that for obvious reasons haven't crossed my radar.

We have stayed at the H10 at Costa Teguise a couple of times in February,
The weather was nice, but it can be a bit windy some days.
Hire a car, and go up into the mountains. (Timanfaya), see Mirador del Rio in the north, and Playa Blanca in the south. Also César Manrique's house is well worth a visit.
We did visit Titty Trollope's (From Heywood) drag bar in Puerto del Carmen, which was a good night out, but I suspect that's gone now,

We much prefer PDC over Playa Blanca and are actually booked for 8 nights next February. Two of the children who’ll be 20 and 24 by then are joining us on the 3rd day.
Similarly to the OP, we like to eat out every night and are staying in a 3 bedroom apartment with a pool (Air BnB) close to the harbour. I’ve been going to Lanzarote since the mid 80’s as a child and have stayed in both Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise a few times. However, we think PDC is the nicest, has an excellent beach and many decent dining options.
OP. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with PDC.

ive been to Lanzarote a few times over the years, mainly because of the weather early or late in the year and often can find late bookings.
I stayed here the last time although it was quite a few years ago. it was fine, clean n comfortable, pool. outside terrace or the first floor ones have a roof terrace. a few minutes walk down a slight hill to the main road and the beach.
las palmeras iii Lanzarote
also stayed here even longer ago. main benefit is its right on the beach

Thanks for the suggestions.
I was thinking PdC as we went there many many years ago and hired a car to tour the island and recall it being the bigger resort of them all, so thought it might best suit us as we are taking our son. If we were going just as a couple Id happily go somewhere much quieter, but a livelier place might be best for this holiday
