Hello all, back in January 2008 and after lots of searching, I bought myself a 4.3 manual Vantage and therefore full filled a life long dream of owning an Aston Martin. The car is parked outside on a drive, plugged into a trickle charger with a high quality cover covering it. The car has been recently serviced at Aston Martin Bristol and I have changed all four tyres from Bridgestone to Michelin Pilot Sport, which has much improved the ride. I am really enjoying reading all the posts on the forum and marvel at the knowledge that is out there and willing to be shared. Next on my list of things to do on the car, is front and rear cameras with an upgraded interior screen, as I find the car tricky to park.

Welcome.

You are clearly being an Aston man now. smile

You have probably already read about these points, but if not, they might be of interest to you.

Exhaust sound - 2005 to 2010 Vantages only have one pair of catalytic converters.
A lowish cost mod. is therefore possible, in conjunction with a 3-way switch for the exhaust valves.

Clutch - (If not already implemented) when/if your clutch wears out, consider fitting the twin plate version.
It is more complex though if your car is Sportshift.

The screen/camera experts are in Tewkesbury.

Enjoy.

You will get used to the parking, depending how tall you are try raising the drivers seat up higher so its easier to see.

Fantastic, your car sounds great and you’ve already got the obligatory smile on your face. Great idea, swapping the old tyres out straight away, and sounds like you’ve gone for the right ones.

What colour is it? Get some pictures up!!

Welcome to the fold ... Always a good day when you can buy and Aston and fulfill a life long ambition. The smile never leaves your face every time you look at the car.

You've started with the right intentions, changing the tyres to Michelin's is a good move. Upgrade screen, front and rear cameras, sound like the perfect job for Aston Installations or one of their band of independent AM specialists to sort you out.

A few pictures would be good please.

Thanks all for your welcome and advice. Next question from me is how to post a picture of the car onto the forum? Was looking for an upload button somewhere, but to no avail.

Welcome

I love reading posts from new owners. It reminds me of when i bought my first Aston around 15 years ago. Such a buzz every time you look and see it parked up ready to go. That sense of it not feeling real.. its so hard to describe.

I hope it’s as trouble free as it is beautiful. They sill always be stunning cars.
