A very long story so not now or here but a new engine has been installed with new GTS-R heads, new inlet manifold, suspension bushes, coilover suspension, Harrop diff cover, racing clutch, condensor (air-con rad)so the car should be ready for action, the old block was producing about 540 brake & 700 foot pounds, expect a dyno result sheet so no doubt I will post it up next week.

Been without the HSV from the end of June so you might imagine how I feel

... more importantly, hope the new lady realises where she sits in the pecking order! (hehehehehehe)

My lovely wife will read this post and wonder if it was her or the car I wanted more in the wedding pix!

Thought you had a heavy duty clutch? Was it just because it had worn out do you think?
Sorry you will not be driving it this w/end.

Jeez Will, you're not having much luck are you! Clutch faulty, rather than not up to the job?

Let's hope this is the very last thing that will go wrong.

Race clutch, metal & I think single paddle, not faulty, just slips

Will,I use a 55% uprated pressure plate and an organic clutch plate onto a steel flywheel and no trouble at all and no heavy pedal.Decided against race paddle clutch etc with solid centre as we only drive on public highways and I like smooth operation, not in or out!!if you know what I mean.

I fried the std Z06 clutch on mine with std LS1+blower in a matter of a few hundred miles. Its supposedly good for an easy 500+, although Im not so sure.

I first tried a Spec 4f solid iron disk after that. It actually drove very well all things considered. Better even than the Textralia I have now. Pedal wasnt very heavy, although more than std. However something happened when I fitted my current engine, and the clutch started dragging, making selecting gears difficult.. I didnt have time to mess about, so I put a Textralia in.

The Tex is just a 6 paddle, sprung disc. So far it is holding fine, and drives ok. I wouldnt like to get stuck in a traffic jam though. It is quite sharp, despite what some might tell you. You cna slip it though, but expect some clunkiness in the driveline when you do. Clutch pedal is very light with this clutch though. No different to a std clutch.
