Hi everyone,

I need to change jobs as come January my wife has to return to work and I need to drop a day or two a week. My current job (industrial fencing) can't accommodate this and neither can any other local firms... Trust me, I've asked.
Anyway, the only thing locally (South Devon) seems to be Amazon delivery.

I've heard mixed things about this so some advice please.

Do I do with a company who provide a van or gonit alone using the Amazon Flex app. The Amazon partner couriers use this app too so I though it could be good to cut out the middle man.

What does everyone think?

As an owner of an Amazon DSP I can give you the pro's and con's of both.

Doing Flex in your own car is fairly light work, you check each day what's available and if there's work and it suits you can pick up 3.5 hour blocks of work. the payment for these blocks is variable based on demand and there's no guarantee of work. You will also need to insure your vehicle for business use and take into account wear and tear.

Working for a DSP would mean working 9 hour blocks, almost exclusively on a twilight shift. The pay is regular and there is generally an abundance of work available. It is a much more physical and demanding shift than the Flex ones are though.

If you want any specific info let me know.
