Hi lovely people,

So sorry to put up yet another post about this jeep I have purchased for a trip to Spain which is tomorrow!

The car has started going into limp mode with a flashing red Z on the dash. It has been to 3 garages and all have not fixed it. I can clear it with a throttle reset and it did 3 trips today of about 30 miles and was all ok, got in it after a 2 hour rest and its back in limp.

I have replaced the MAP and MAF with new, wires have been checked and also no apparent air leaks. Filter is ok. Fault codes I think suggest throttle related.

There was a Bad connection on boost controller apparently but apparently fixed.

The last read codes were;

P0103-00 – Mass or Volume Air Flow "A" Circuit High Input

P0102-00 – Mass or Volume Air Flow "A" Circuit Low Input

P200A-00 – Intake Manifold Runner Performance (Bank 1)

I had a back up car that just failed the MOT due to a missing DPF :-(

Any advice would be very much appreciated as I start my 1500 mile journey at 4pm on the 6th Oct.

I would be looking at all of your inlet pipe work and joints as a starting point.

Surely, you posted after you started your journey then?

I'd be thinking more pragmatically, can you delay the trip, hire a car or go by alternate means (eg fly then hire local)? The car is clearly not fit for the journey, going into limp mode is as clear a sign as any that some kind of non-trivial issue is there. That 3 garages can't fix it, isn't a surprise these days but if they've had eyes and hands on the car, people on an internet forum don't have much hope of offering the solution.

The clues were there all along, on this one. I mean, in addition to the fact it had a "Jeep" badge........
