Old cats....dry food too hard?
Discussion
My two are 17.5......from what I read, older cats do generally eat more and more, probably thyroid related. My two seem to want another sachet of wet stuff every hour or two if they could.
I do have a bowl of dry food always available, but these days they rarely touch it......I suddenly wondered if it's simply because it's too hard and maybe painful on teeth/jaw etc?
Any thoughts on this? Are there softer dry foods out there to try?
Or are they just fussy/greedy and only wet stuff will do in their old age?

No harm just feeding them wet food. AI Google reckons it’s better actually.
I stopped with ours ages ago, as she was swallowing them whole, then they were swelling up inside her and making her throw up. Dreamies were the same.
Have a similar issue to yours at the moment with her eating a lot and still lost weight - Ultrasound tomorrow for a look at her insides after bloods weren’t conclusive.

My cat is 15 and eats about 2/3 wet food and 1/3 dry. Currently the latter is Purina One Senior which she loves and the pieces are smaller than average.I do have a bowl of dry food always available, but these days they rarely touch it......I suddenly wondered if it's simply because it's too hard and maybe painful on teeth/jaw etc?
