So I’m having a week in California and I decided to rent a convertible car. I knew I would either receive a Mustang or BMW 4 series convertible.

Anyway, long story short the Mustangs were at the dealer and the four series needed new tires so for the same price I ended up with a vantage convertible. Now I’m a 911 992 owner so this is interesting situation!

I really liked the finish on the interior and I got a full size case in the boot, a massive one. I think it makes an absolutely tremendous noise, but I thought I felt that the entertainment system was a little bit weak. I think Porsche owners often the Lord the dynamics of Porsche over Aston owners and have to say after spending a week with the vantage I think it’s very impressive, slightly more comfortable and dynamic enough for almost every road situation. Lord knows I might even get one for the noise and ride alone. Also - love the look of it.

You lucky bugger. Yes, the in car entertainment isn’t great but you can add CarPlay and that transforms it. They are very tyre pressure dependent for handling. Once right they are just superb and the steering is actually really good. I love how it can be a comfortable cruiser or a full on sports car depending on your mood. Hard to be anonymous in it though.

I do this once a year in California too.

Last 3:
This was surprisingly good. Great ride / handling compromise. Best DCT I have used. Decent power when revved. OK sound. Nice interior. A much better car than I thought it would be.

This was a very good car but did make me question what all the fuss was about. Good handling, ride a bit choppy, gearbox a little jerky in auto mode but nice when shifting manually, sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Not particularly quick but still plenty quick enough. Felt more BMW than Aston. You don’t get that super special feeling.

So subtle. Makes a great sound. Terrible auto gearbox. You don’t really drive it, you pilot it across the seven seas smile

The base audio in the Vantage is not very good. The optional upgrade is at least respectable.

What was annoying is that when I was looking for one I found that so many didn't have the upgraded audio. Not sure why people didn't add it because it was only about a $2400 option.

Yes, but not as much of an issue in the roadster though.

I noticed the same. Most dealer ordered cars only had the base audio. I agree ridiculous not to add that option.

Especially that as many have said, the Premium audio in the AM6 Vantage is not as good as the Premium Audi in the previous VH Vantage. So base must be really bad.
