Which would you pick?

Anderson is £590 after £105 bill credit offer taking into account

Simpson & Partners is £650.

Tending towards the Anderson as they might be around longer for the warranty but not as many features as S&P but advise welcome.

Want to use Octopus Intelligent Go with my Renault 5 due November.

Just watched a review on YT by a charge point installer who rated the S & P unit in the way it could be repaired in the future. The Anderson when I looked was only tethered which put me off as I wanted untethered. I also remember seeing that A have gone bump once already.

Andersen have already gone bust once, what makes you think they’ll be longer lived?

That was always my second concern with Anderson that they could go bust and leave an expensive bit of kit unsupported.

Got an S&P can’t fault it and customer service is very good. Had a faulty part that needed changing and one of the directors drove from Wiltshire to Surrey within 2 days to personally swap it around.

It worked well.

No experience with Anderson.

We have just had a Simpson charger installed- it is a thing of beauty, small and comes in lots of colours so we could closely match it to the garage door and front door colour. The company is based in the Cotswolds, are approachable and helpful, their ethics align with ours and it works flawlessly and integrates with Octopus IG….. every time I plug in, I smile and think- that was money well spent

Maybe because the Simpsons co-founded Andersen.

The cable storage lacks a little something.

Was this the first gone bust iteration of Andersen? Just done some searching and see the Simpsons sold the business for an undisclosed sum after entering administration.

EV is a difficult space, I have one and love it but it’s so easy to end up with some unsupported piece of kit.

I've had my Andersen A2 for 6 years. It's charged 4 EVs for over 120k miles.

It's been very reliable. The new ones get a 7 year warranty.

Many thanks, tending towards the S&P now. Evidently it is open source so uses Octopus servers so if S&P goes bust it should still work with ITG..
