Hi, not sure if the correct part of the forum but I am looking for a recommendation for an engineering company / machining shop that would be able to repair some threads in a brake caliper carrier.

Ideally a stainless steel Time Sert installation.

Located south Manchester but happy to travel within reason.

Thanks in advance

If you can post, this guy s great (edit just realised you mean the carrier not the caliper. But anyway maybe he does those too if you don’t get any other suggestions on here).

Thanks for that - will be an option if I can't find anything more local!

It's a Honda Accord Type R CH1 caliper carrier. Annoyingly the calipers are much more easily available than the carriers.

I would give the "Biker Banter" section on here a try,
even though you problem has 4 wheels the users in BB know a lot of machine shops for their projects
and some have very well-equipped workshops in their sheds.
Some pics might help to show the scale of the carrier.

MAM in Sale? They are more on mass production side but they might help? I have never personally used them though,

As a back up you could try HTS in Salford, they have a massive workshop and do bespoke bits but they are more rams and valves for heavy plant etc. But they have made a couple of car related things for me in the past which are NLA but they are not cheap as their hourly rate type of place. HTH.

Is it a particularly awkward one to stick the time sert in? In theory you only need a pillar drill and some patience.

Not sure what would be considered "awkward" but access seems pretty straightforward.

The tools for the time sert look to include an angled countersink which might be difficult to replicate?

I use Dransfields (Chadderton, Oldham) a lot through work. They'd be able to do it but not sure on cost.
