Hi

We have a TADO set up in the house with all radiators using smart TRVs to call for heat from the boiler. I now want to put a radiator in the bathroom which is currently piped but not connected.

TADO says install the TRV 2.5m from the bath but I simply don’t have room to do that.

Without a TADO TRV I can’t see a way to get the radiator to call for heat from the boiler.

Is there a solution that anybody knows about to make the bathroom radiator work?

if you just put a normal valve on it, then it will come on when any of the other radiators are calling for heat.

The issue is if you want the bathroom only.

We have Tado TRVs on all rads except the bathrooms. Use a wireless stat to call for heat and only the bathroom rads get hot, like a towel rail loop. We have stored hot water so I time that at the same time too, although that gets up to temp quickly.

The wireless stat is usually used for the kitchen/diner but in summer I change their rads to be under TRV control and the stat to control the receiver (to fire the boiler). In winter the bathroom rads get hot when any other rad is on.

It can be an issue in summer if it’s too warm for the stat s 25C max so have it offset by 5 degrees.
.

If you did want to put a Tado on the bathroom rad I can t imagine why distance from the bath would be a problem - it’s not like it’s carrying mains voltage. Maybe they’re just thinking of it being splashed?
