Sagaris as an everyday car?
Discussion
Well we are about to find out as my much maligned everyday hack the diesel Fiesta has just got for an uneconomical burton.
It needs about £500 of cheap as chips work to get it thru the MOT and the car is worth about, er...£3-400 ? The chances of the car lasting on said work throughout the next 12 months till next MOT arent so much as (Field Marshall) Slim, more Private Pike !
So, we're down to a Rover 200 and a Sagaris now. Might be having to press the Sprite into service at this rate! The last time I remember that working was bump starting it up around Fleetwood, a sodding cold Xmas morning about 3 yrs ago!
See...you BMW/Merc heated seat 2nd car nancy boys dont know what yer missing!

Using my Tam to get me to and from work every day had me worried initially, in the sense that I would become 'immune' to the fun of driving, after a year and a half of this, I still look forward to driving it to and from work! I could get lifts off the wife in the Clio, but I decline, can't think why!!!!
4 years to and from work with the Chim, (hour there, hour back), quite a few days with the 4.2, when Jane let me borrow it, and now every day with the 'Gris.
Sold the 7 series some time ago, it hadn't been driven for 2 years, basically just got forgotten after the Chim arrived. Landcruiser for the troops.

Hi All,
Well, it's nice to hear people using a SP6 based car as an everyday run about and enjoying it! I use my Chim for 250miles a week plus the odd 400mile run at the weekend and I have been thinking about upgrading to a SP6 variant, Tuscan/Tamora and using this for my everyday car.
Chim's in for a 24k service at Henley and they do have some wonderful cars in stock...
Bevan.

Can get expensive on petrol though, I usually put £30 a week into the tank, but today, I filled up just before my 60 mile trip to Redditch, and 60 mile trip back, I had 54 litres when I left, when I came back, I had 30 litres!
(But, I did do some very spirited driving, and I learnt that a 350Z isn't much cop at accelerating from standstill!

use my T2 s daily for almost 1 year now.
TVR type teething troubles but non relating to daily use.
Car's don't like being used at weekends only. I have a 1964 mgb in the garage in top class condition, fully maintained, you coud wax the underside. It runns rough for a few days when i get it out in the summer until is settles down then sweet as a nut. trouble is if I get it wet it will rust away in about 10min, unlike these plastic ones......
IMO a lot of TVR problems are caused by infrequent use that a lot owners give their PAJ
