Could I get some recommendations for brokers who can offer good service and hopefully competitive family fleet insurance.

I've been in touch with Nowell & Richards so far, Locktons is my next approach. Anyone else I should be considering?

Not sure what they offer but Pace Ward used to be pretty good.

They appear to have been merged with Towergate. Will give them a go.

Go direct to Hiscox, they have a private client arm

I've always used AIB and Howden (formerly A-Plan).

Edited add: Could you let us know how you get on? - It may be useful for me/others in the future.

Will report back, I ve left details with 3 brokers so far, will try a few more as I ve got a few weeks until renewal.

Will add Howdens and AIB to the list. Although when I tried to get a premium for an Ariel Atom, Howdens were not very competitive.

I've used AIB for a few years, currently insured with Hiscox. I do feel its on the expensive side and not least because of all the extras you have to have e.g. "you may not play golf but its standard as part of the policy to have your golf clubs insured" x20 other pointless included things that you can't take out - all of this bumps the cost up.

What I have found is that when I've approached other brokers they've simply gone to Chubb and Hiscox and got the same numbers back as AIB - they're fishing in the same pool on that side basically.

I did try with Locktons previously but the level of utter incompetence and responsiveness didn't give me any desire to try again. I've a few months to go to renewal time, so would be interested in others experiences.

I was with Zurich Private clients through Howden but they were very expensive and charged admin fess for every small change, Lockton were £1,500 cheaper with any driver over 35 and no admin fees, scheme is backed by Aviva these days

I wouldn’t go anywhere near Howden with the admin fees they charge.

Do any of these policies cover more than 90 days in Europe? Seems to either be v specialist or Saga and not old enough for the latter.

I'm pretty sure the FOC policy with Lockton is unlimited in Europe

Interested to see Howdens - I have a house insured with them, but never considered they'd be competitive for supercar insurance. Maybe I should try them next year (although I think it's unlikely they'd be able to compete with how little Admiral seem to want from me these days).

Me too. Saved a fortune over having them with Classic Line.

They couldn't get close to Admiral for me

Admiral are very good and relatively inexpensive, they will also permit a 24 y/o to be added as a driver on a 296 Ferrari for minimal charge.

Following a recommendation to me, I found Elevate insurance brokers very good at all stages - initial enquiries, tailoring the policy, responding to my queries, putting it in place, and sorting out updates to the policy I want to make, even at unreasonable hours!

On Bennos comment when I asked if Admiral would cover both of my sons (21 & 23) on the 355 for the whole year the premium went up from £280 to £600. On my M4 no-one would insure either boys (for a vaguely sensible sum) so was staggered that Admiral even quoted on the 355. Wouldn't touch Direct Line now - had a farcical situation with my wife's car that we vowed we would never go back to DL .

For clarity I added him for a continental trip (cost about £45 for 2 weeks) and supervised from the passenger seat, I have zero doubt if he went in it by himself it be wrapped around a lamppost in minutes.....
