EV6/ Ionic sound system weak bass
Discussion
Anyone with either an Ionic 5 or EV6 with the supposedly premium Meridian stereo will know that the sound is pretty lacklustre with thin midrange and almost no bass.
Many, like me, have resorted to adding an active rearing instead of the passive Meridian one.
Well a bright spark has discovered that the sub was wired out of phase from the factory.
Swap couple of wires and not only is the bass improved but the midrange and imaging are vastly better.
It’s an amazing difference.
I’ve kept my active sub since I’ve already got it and it’s like being at a concert, just incredible.
Bad job KIA/ Hyundai (naturally Meridian) for screwing this up, but it’s an easy fix!
