Folks need some advice.

I recently bought an Aprilia Tuono 1000r (the V twin not the early V4).

It has Mivv carbon cans on it. The opening of each exhaust is 25mm with the baffles in and a whopping 61mm with them out.

With the baffles out it sounds bloody outrageous and fantastic - for about 30 seconds and then you realise that it needs to be a bit more civilised. It makes the house windows actually vibrate just on tick over.

However with the 25mm opening baffles in is sounds WAY too polite so something in between is needed.

Turns out that I can get alternative baffles with a 35mm opening rather than 25mm. So that is close to twice the open area and thus, in my mind, ought to sound a good deal better - without making my ears bleed.

Thing is these alternative baffles ain't cheep at about £130 delivered (for the pair) and I'd be gutted if it didn't sound a great deal naughtier.

So does anyone have any experience of changing baffles on a Mivv exhaust and if so what was the result? Worth £130 or not?

I'd love to just take the baffles out completely but even I am a little bit embarrassed about how antisocial it is.

Something close but not quite as ASBOish would be ideal.

Got any pics of the baffles?

You can often cut them down to get better noise

Here are schematics of the 25mm and 35mm baffles. They are basically exactly the same but the tubes differ in diameter.

The thing is I also have a 675 Street Triple R with a fancy high level titanium Arrows twin exhaust. The previous owner has cut down the baffles to almost nothing and frankly I don't like the sound. It is loud but not "nice".

The Mivv exhaust without the baffles sounds awesome (think very deep and resonant straight through pipe Harley) and I'm looking for something just a few ASBO points down from that.

My gut tells me that the 35 mm baffles will be louder and a bit deeper but just possibly not quite deep enough and loud enough to easily justify the price.
