Broken onkyo ht-r380 receiver
Discussion
So I've had a Onkyo surround sound system for around 10 years and been more than happy with the quality of the sound (bearing in mind i've not been able to really turn it up due to living in a flat/semi detached house). The main receiver has finally backed up, i have spoken with a local repair place about it and was told that it sounds like the sound control board has gone and they are not a repairable or replaceable item anymore.
So I've started to look at just buying the cheapest receiver that Onkyo as a replacement and just connect up the old speakers as they are still all good. Is there anything i need to look at to ensure its all compactable? I use a Xbox to stream games, films and music through it to the TV and reciver. Any recommendations in the range?

Is there any reason why i couldn't just by another receiver and swop everything across? Specs look similar enough other than advances in connectivity (that does not bother me)
