Ghost of Yotei
Discussion
I know I’m in a minority of one, but I’m not entirely loving it so far. I adored Ghost of Tsushima (was that really 5 years ago??) and maybe I had too high expectations. I also absolutely hate excessive use of flashbacks (looking at you, LoU2) so maybe I’ve just become the grumpy git I always feared I would.
Anyway, it’s very early days in the game and I’ve only offed one of the Six so far, so maybe I’ll get into it more soon.
And in its defence, it’s a massively professional, beautiful-looking and sounding game - props to all involved.

Finished this last night - It felt shorter than GoT with only 36 hours total banked for pretty much completing everything.
A significant step-up from GoT (which I'm a huge fan of with multiple completions) in most areas. Noted the discussion around the lack of/thinness of the plot but it's an ages old tale that was told well. Combat was rewarding (played on hard) with a notable curve in challenge towards the end.
I know SP have put it out to the community whether there should be DLC - I think they wrapped the story up well and could leave it at that or explore some options around stories associated with some of the interesting characters you meet.
Overall feels like an 8 out of 10 for me but it's been a year of tough competition with Clair Obscur and Khazan both being standouts.
