Combination double oven - are these not a thing anymore?

As above, looking to replace an (Exellent) but old AEG with two ovens, the top one being a microwave as well.

There just does not seem to be any. Do you have to now but separate main and built in microwave?

You do have to look hard as most seem to have disappeared from the market (maybe due to the popularity of air fryers?). I too have been looking and so far have only come across this one:

I don't recall ever seeing a double oven with the top oven being a microwave - not even 30 years ago. The smaller top part was always just a smaller oven and normally used as a grill.

Obviously, if you have one then they must have existed, but they would have been a very rare thing even when you bought it. I think your chances of finding one now are pretty much zero

We have had them in two houses now - and the current house we replaced the Ikea/Phillips one with a new AEG. Ours is microwave and grill combined in top, fan etc in bottom.

We've got 2 matching samsung cookers. Top one is combined microwave/grill/oven, which uses some magic to work as a microwave as there's no rotating plate and the metal shelf guides stay in situ. It's also a fan oven. Bottom one is an oven with a removable centre plate so you can use it as a small oven or with 2 separate temperatures top and bottom. It's also got a rotating spit roast attachment which I've never used.
Appreciate it's not a double oven, but it looks quite integrated together.

Contrary to urban myth, metal can be put in a microwave oven, provided it is smooth / no jagged edges. So metal trays / shelves are usually ok especially if designed by the manufacturer.

Flatbed microwaves do away with the rotating plate simply by rotating the microwave antenna instead. We have a standalone one which are much easier to use and clean.

Ours is. It’s a Neff. House is 6 years old, was fitted then.

Or like my AEG one just burn everything on one side
