Yep, Equisetum (not aliens, they would have used your entire bog-roll in one day).

Good luck on getting rid of that!

Cosmic...

Thanks for confirming. Is my house in danger a la Japanese knotweed? Only just bought the damn thing.

I have previously used this stuff for horsetail and it actually works - or did for me at least.

Glyphosate and activated ammonium sulphate. Not approved for sale to amateurs but hey ho, we all break speed limits so why not.

Or sell it as asparagus?

It won't destroy your house, it's just hard to kill by traditional methods. I would paint that shoot and all others you can find with glyphosate asap.

Wasn't' aware of that in fairness, just know it worked where nothing else did.

No problem; when I worked in the industry it was very important - but now with the internet and online sales it's more of a Wild West. 'Pro' in this context not only means it's better/cheaper but also that the company isn't supposed to sell it to Joe Public because the formulation is different/stronger. In practice it's unlikely to be an issue with herbicides but you wouldn't want to get involved with agrochemical insecticides.

As an aside, I love the sub-fora of PH. It's just so damn useful.

Thank you.
