Had an ongoing MAF code on an F56 mini diesel (B37). Seems to come and go but recently more persistent.

Cleaned and changed the sensor and as expected, no solution. So now I'm looking at everything else and two problems stand out.

1) the resonator box on the intake side has a broken clip where it seals so with engine vibration theres likely to be a slight leak.

2) the swirl flap arm (the bar inside the manifold) has a leak on the outside of the manifold and there is a little bit of oil coming from it

Is this enough to cause a MAF code or should I be taking more apart (which is tempting fate)

MAF fault codes are rarely indicative of a defective MAF but mostly indicative of A.N Other intake issue such as air leaking in somewhere after the MAF.
