Anyone replaced a CCC iDrive unit?

Hi all,
My CCC iDrive has developed an issue, so I’m after some advice on how to proceed with a repair/replacement.
The issue is the iDrive continuously tries to boot. The screen will briefly flicker but never boots. After 20 mins or so, it does eventually boot and works perfectly. If the car has been off for a while, it goes back to the same non booting.
I’ve tried the reset by holding the eject and volume buttons, and also disconnecting the battery for a while. No luck.
Replacing the actual unit looks easy enough, but from reading, it will need to be coded, something which I don’t have experience with. There are also a few a repair company’s out there with good reviews.
Interested to hear if anyone has had to replace/repair their CCC/CIC unit and the route they went down. Any advice would be appreciated.

The guy I've sent it off to was recommended on the E63/64 UK Facebook group.
