Battery conditioner and magnetic adapter
Discussion
Hi,
Looking at a condition ctek 5.0 for my 2005 db9.
Issue is it's currently living on the drive due to garage space.
I can't really be leaving one plugged into he boot (I would probably also drive away with it attached as well)
Is there a way to connect to the positive terminal and a ground somewhere in the bonnet area? Also fitting one of these somewhere in the lower grill so if I do forget it's attached it just disconnects.
Any ideas welcome
Thanks

Hi Mike
Yes, it is very easy to do. I did it for my Vantage V8S in 2020 and it works a treat ! Search for Seakingsam CTEK-compatible magnetic connector, and the entire thread will show where to connect to positive and earth under the bonnet, and where various forum members set the magnetic receptor.
All the best

I've bought a handful of these over the years for various cars.

I have one of those fitted under the front number plate holder.https://www.mobilecentre.co.uk/magcode-powerclip-a...
Question - if when detached, and the 'live' end is lying on the ground, would it matter if it got rained on, thus shorting out the C-Tek terminals? I would hope it's clever enough to deal with that.
On my DB11 V12, there is a place in the engine compartment for jump start. This is where I placed the CTEK ring terminal connector for battery maintenance. I do not like the magnetic terminal as I've heard sometimes the connection is bad causing a high resistance and for those using a long term charge, they've come out to a dead battery.
The place in the engine compartment (with the yellow arrow) is a ground terminal specifically for use with jumper cables.
