XC70. Any pitfalls?

Hi All
As much as i like my Peugeot 107 (Purchased somewhat on impulse as my 106 headgasket decided to crap itself!), i feel like i want something a bit more luxurious. The 107 has served a purpose, and i wanted one, as i'd read good things about them, but feel like i want a bit more of a "do everything" car and certainly want an auto for a more relaxed drive.
Ive always liked a volvo, owned many a 7/940 so this seems like a natural choice.
I do a fair bit of stop / start town driving in the week, but always come back down the motorway on the school run, and always see a relative on a Sunday, who is a good 80 mile round trip down the motorway, away so the car would get some good runs.
Thinking about an XC70 D5. Budget wouldn't stretch to the lowest of mileage examples, but from what i've read, as long as they are well serviced, cambelts done, auto boxes serviced and Aux belts done (as they take out the timing belt if snapped), they seem to be a good, bulletproof all rounder with plenty of punch.
Just wondered if anyone on here had one and could give me any real world experiences.
Possible to add apple car play to a P3 XC70? not seen much about it so not sure.
