Heater Dial Controller Cable snapped

Hi All,

I went to turn my heating up the other day and the dial just continued to turn, whipped the dash of and the cable has snapped at the very top where it screws in.

If I buy a new inner cable where does it connect to at the bottom end??

If it's the one to control the temperature it goes to a valve in the passenger footwell next to the heater box.
