Calling all Maser techies - does anyone recognise this socket?

it dangles alone in the driver's footwell just behind the trim shielding it and other electrics from the accelerator.

I am guessing this is a pre-OBDII diagnostic plug? It has 3 holes, whereas the later OBDII sockets have 18 I think ...
