They currently have an Audi R8 soft top, 5.2 FSI V10 Spyder quattro Euro at £39,995 on Autotrader that I'm considering.
Does anyone have experience with Knight Racer or know anything about this car?

I have a 718 GT4 that I love but I would like more speed and something I can put a child seat in. I'm thinking a V10 R8 up to £55,000.
I've put the budget up to £75 and considered Mclaren but I ideally want to stay around £55,000. I want something more sporty than GT, 500bhp.
I'm also considering an F-Type.
I love the GT4 but I don't think I'll ever use it on the track.
I'm guessing the price is low at Knight Racer due to the mods.

Any help is much appreciated.

According to FastestLaps, your 718 GT4 does 0-160 km/h in 8.3s. A Mk1 R8 V10 Spyder covers the same benchmark in 7.9s.

Is it really worth changing car to go four-tenths of a second quicker? In a car that's probably more GT and less sports car than the Porsche?

It has a pop and bang map, looks like Bradford and seemingly has no nice parts whatsoever. The interior looks like it’s done a lot more than 40k to me too. I’d run far, far away.

If you have to ask that question is this the right forum for you?

That is one cheap V10 R8 and there's probably a very good reason for that. They are a great car but like anything of this type it doesn't take much to run up a large bill. Keep to unmodified from a reputable dealer and you shouldn't go far wrong.

R8 V10 all the way, nice step up from a GT4 and will sound tonnes better to boot.

No experience of that dealer or that car, but that car in particular doesn’t look like one to be getting involved with, its got the better more desirable manual gearbox, (vs the R tronic) but the mods for me would rule it out, it’s also way too cheap, dig and you’ll probably find issues.

Suspect if RE performance were to assess it you’d get a massive list of potential expensive issues to deal with, have a look at Ricky’s buyers guide videos on R8’s it highlights common expensive things to watch out for.

The R8 V10 has a superb engine sound and rev nice and high, and the manual gearbox is a real peach, but then you have a GT4, I assume a manual which is also a superb car, noise aside I suspect the GT4 may be the overall better car… my guess is your 718 is going to be better built more reliable and cheaper to run given how much older the gen1 R8’s are.

Hope you decide and find what you want though, all the best.

8 owners in 15 years and headline description: “This R8 is the desirable 6 speed manual with low mileage of 39K”.

Seriously seats got in that condition from only 2,500-ish miles a year?!?!

If you’re going to fake it, at least make it believable!!
