Hi,

First post so a big Hello to all, great website.

I've got a question regarding importing a Gallardo, i've made few enquires regarding warranty and as I understand a Lamborghini warranty from a car sourced from anywhere in the world will be treated as fully valid in the UK ?

Also anybody with hints and tips about importing a used car would also be welcome.( costs involved, admin etc )

I've seen some great value cars abroad and I think I could run one and sell it on without taking too much of a hit.

I believe the warranty should be honoured in the UK, albeit imports are 2 years not 3. I believe this can be extended at cost.

Make sure you have factored in necessary VAT if the car is sold netto.

If buying already in the UK, request sight of the VAT receipt as many cars slip through the net. Wouldn't personally like a knock on the door from the VAT MAN

There are some great deals on LHD cars out there, a recent 04 egear sold for 62.5k

If the car is a RHD import it will obviously be cheaper than UK counterpart, but will sell for the same delta

The car will obviously depreciate, so buy wisely. If you haven't got access trade prices then i'd advise using a car broker like Dion from elmscollection.com to get you the best car for whatever your budget is
