Eurocarparks PCN - wrong registration entered!

I've received a PCN (£100) from Eurocarparks for parking at a Toby Carvery. It was one of those places where you have to enter your number plate registration at the bar, which I did... or at least I meant to. I realise now I entered the wrong number; I entered the plate of a car I sold a few months back, not the new car! What do I do, appeal online? I can also prove I was at the Toby Carvery (bank statement) and provide the registration I provided.

These days a 'minor keying error' will/should get you let off, though they'll still grab £20 'admin' from you. Go through the appeal procedure initially if you want that. However, I don't think a completely different reg will qualify - 'o' for '0' should be fine though.

Fairly often the PCNs are non-compliant in some way so there will be reasons for not paying. But, if you do go for the appeal route (even initially) make absolutely sure you don't identify yourself as the driver under any circumstances, as that will lose you one of your legal routes to not pay. Refer to 'the driver', not 'I' or 'my partner'.

If it was me i'd go to the Toby Carvary first with the proof you ate there and the PCN and explain it to them, they can usually get it cleared faster than trying to deal with the parking company yourself

Thanks both, I called the Toby Carvery and seems like they have issues all the time - they've asked me to send them a photo and they'll get it cancelled
