V8V door seal refresh

The passenger door seal on my 07 Vantage isn’t sealing as well as it should around the glass area. There’s light wind noise at 50mph, and at (ahem) higher speeds, the seal breaks completely and it’s really noisy. The glass is at the correct height. Driver’s side is OK.
I assumed it would be the usual task of acquiring and fitting a new seal. Until I saw the price…..
Other than lashing out over £500, I can only see three options:
1) adjust the striker plate to pull the door in slightly. I don’t think this will be enough, as the wind noise is from the front edge of the glass, near the A pillar
2) adjust the glass - I know the whole side window glass can be raised and lowered, but can the angle be adjusted so that it presses a bit more firmly against the seal? I suspect not…
3) ‘plump up’ the seal. I’ve heard of instances of pulling some soft silicone tubing through door seals to firm them up slightly.
Does anyone have any experience or other suggestions?
