Advice regarding a 2 - 4 year old 340i
Discussion
Last month after 17 years of ownership I parted with my 2006 e92 330i, loved the car and had very few troubles in all the years of ownership.
The six cylinder was a huge part of the appeal so am after another 6 cylinder so the 340i it is as nowadays prefer a four door.
Am looking at finding an approved used and have noticed the M sport pro pack models are much rarer to find especially in the colours I would prefer which are Skyscraper Grey or the Tanzanite Blue.
So is the M sport pro pack worth the extra hassle at locating one and the extra expense ?

Well specwise is important to a certain extent however the look is as important as cannot live with a car that is not easy to my eye, went and looked at a 340i a few years back and I just did not like the looks especially the front grill, put me right off at the time and that was the main reason I kept the 330i.
The front spoiler and rear bumper of the M Sport Pro Plus give it the look that I like so the other extras on MSPP would be a bonus, I think I have convinced myself.

I rest my case, only you know what is important to you, well done. The front spoiler and rear bumper of the M Sport Pro Plus give it the look that I like so the other extras on MSPP would be a bonus, I think I have convinced myself.
Thanks for the contribution guys, was not aware that some cars were sold with missing stuff because of the covid shortages.
Shall have to check accordingly what is there and what has been ommited with every car I view.
Most probably a few longish down south trips as not much choice up here.

Seems my wife’s car is almost your ideal car
Do the numbers on a new one through drive the deal , I chose this over a m3 touring , I’d already sorted the spec and was ready to order as a do it all car , but then she was offered a job that’s a hundred mile round trip per day in heavy traffic so a 340 made more sense , it’s a lot less obvious than the m3 which was important to us .
I can’t see the point of having anything quicker , it’s more than fast enough in the real world , to be fair a 320i is !

Lovely looking car that, would love an M3 however car parked outside so shall atract a lot of attention and can do without the hassle, might debadge the 340 for this reason and keep fingers crossed.Do the numbers on a new one through drive the deal , I chose this over a m3 touring , I d already sorted the spec and was ready to order as a do it all car , but then she was offered a job that s a hundred mile round trip per day in heavy traffic so a 340 made more sense , it s a lot less obvious than the m3 which was important to us .

Some don t have bits like Harmon kardon because of covid parts shortages.
This wasn't much of a problem on the M340i - they all kept the stereo upgrade if they were optioned with the technology pack regardless of the supply issues. The supply issues on the M340i affected things like passenger seat width adjustment, wireless charging and some issues with the touch controller and touch screen.therams said:
I had one that came with HUD but not electric seats

That one is debadged , it’s quite anonymous .After watching a would be burglar check the rear of my previous 340 , making sure it was the one he wanted , on my security cameras at the last house then him trying to break in I thought it best not to advertise what the car is , it was also part of the reason to not buy the m3 .

Shame you didn’t get the M3, don’t see enough of them about! Wife took a job in Bolton area , I’d have had a high mileage m3 in no time and it would be wasted sat in traffic at leat 3 hours a day , the 340 is more than fast enough and almost invisible . I nearly bought a used green m3t , pleased I didn’t as Chris the builder drove past my house in his , exactly the same car and colour . paulwirral said:

I may have spotted it. Only interesting cars around our way atm are obviously your neighbour Curtis, the orange Bentley (
) and the throbber in the Huracan with matching number plate who is going to run one of my kids over one of these days.Gassing Station | BMW General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
