I hope this is the right section for this but I'm getting a bit bored of my M140i as I predominantly just do motorway driving and keep finding the lack of space a pain when going away on holiday or even just visiting family as we have a dog who travels in the boot. Thread here - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I had an old Discovery TD5 that I had prior to the M140i and miss the driving position and being able to tow things but don't miss being under the bonnet fixing things in the middle of winter. I was originally looking at a Disco4 but my dad is currently on engine number 3 on his (owned from new and under LR warranty) so any SDV6 was out of contention.

Which leads me onto the Cayenne, I had a look at touraegs but apparently the Cayenne is similar underpinnings but handle a bit better and can come with things like air suspension and are better kitted for off road driving? I am aware that any big 4x4 won't have M140i performance but are they able to have a bit of performance for overtakes?

Are they reliable? Is there any engine to avoid? I was initially looking at spending sub-£20k if I can so I don't need to finance anything but for that, there is the TDV8 but its euro5 or the TDV6 that is euro 5&6 so is it worth losing the euro6 and going for an older TDV8?

Apologies for all the questions and thanks in advance to anyone willing to read my waffling and reply!
