Hi all,

I have a 1999 4.0 non AC with power steering and have a query about the V belt length and pulley tensoiner adjustment range.

To my knowledge the tensioner is original and the belt is 1853 and relatively new. The party number is the same as that listed by The main TVR parts suppliers...

I'm surprised as the lack of adjustment that remains on the belt tensoiner. As you can see from the picture it is almost maxed out already. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

Can't really see what the picture is showing. I don't think there is any adjustment of the tensioner, think it is just a coil spring in the tensioner that does that..... Is your belt routed correctly?

The picture is showing the gap between the stop blocks. If the two blocks touch it means it's at its maximum extension. This is what would normally occur if the belt had stretched beyond its effective length.

Did that make sense?

As mentioned, i don't think there is any manual adjustment. I got the routing picture from this post. Perhaps it might help...

As long as it has some tension left on it you should be ok, there have been various discussions on belt lengths over the years so it may be worth a search.
1850 being slightly too long rings a bell with me but I cant quite remember sorry.
