Episode 1 last night and I'm enjoying it. I've always been a massive Stephen King fan and loved IT so this has all the hallmarks of being a great series.

If you haven't seen it, i'd definitely recommend it. Episode 1 did not turn out like I imagined it to.

Dunno, not pulled in yet.

Other writers getting to play in King's sandbox isn't a bad thing but it hasn't hit the spot fist time out!

The monster we've been introduced to, just being a monster, no slow lingering creep or menace*, just RAARRR in your face!

It's been a very long time since I read IT, but I'm sure it's alluded to that pennywise or rather that entity had in the past killed whole groups of settlers etc.

also i think the only reason that girl survived in the cinema at the end was because she had the Turtle Maturin charm on her bracelet

I enjoyed the episode a lot and it was certainly creepy and brutal. Remember this is before the losers club defeat Pennywise in the future, survival for any character is not guaranteed.

I need to go back and watch IT parts 1 and 2 for references in the show.

Looking forward to starting this once it’s a couple of episodes in. Trailers looked decent.

Does anyone recommend re-watching the modern films before stating this??

Bumping this back up to the top now the series is nearly done.

I've thoroughly enjoyed it, the latest episode was superb with Pennywise very much on form.

Picked up well after ep.1 I think it is now a brilliant addition to the It Universe.

Finished it last night, ramps up as it goes along (first episode is batst) and had a great final two episodes. It's pretty obvious Skarsgard wasn't initially available given how his presence is more towards the end but I don't think that hurts it, he should be used sparingly.

One of the most consistently strong series I've watched this year.

Enjoyed that. Pretty brutal in places, but some nice nods to other stuff. Definite early Stranger Things vibe about it alongside Stand By Me, Raiders of the Lost Ark and LoTR my precious and maybe some Jeepers Creepers . Very menacing and not one for the kids.
