What is the life expectancy of the cam belt on an 11plate scnic 1.5 diesel.

5 years .............. we have a broken 1.5 in our car park to prove it.

If you intend to keep it get it done, if you are happy to leave it and take a chance and not be upset with a caryou weigh in then go for it

I have only just bought it and have no idea of the cam belt history but was going to get it done as a precaution and was curious as the service history i do have is limited so thanks.

ANY car that has just been bought & does NOT fall into the category "bangernomics" should have its full belt kit done if you have no proof of it being done within 5 years.

Has always been my mantle.

Might not matter now as according to my local garage all 4 injectors are knackered anyway.1 broken and three failed solenoids.
